Auburn used to be a college town with a football team. It still is, gloriously, but it is now also a small metro with a real diversified economy and one of the most consistent housing markets in the Southeast. The bumper-sticker version: it stopped being just a college-town market five years ago, and most of the country still hasn't updated their priors.
